Uwharrie National Forest

I went with Marvin and Murphy to Uwharrie National Forest for a couple of nights. The first night we ended up getting a few inches of some snow! It was amazing, and I felt like I was back in New England. It was their first snowfall, and they loved it! 

Uwharrie is a beautiful National Forest. It seems under appreciated, in a state with stunning coastlines, and Pisgah National Forest in the Appalachian Mountains. But there is a great deal to see, and plenty of trails. 

Ice in Wilmington NC

 

We were forecast to potentially receive some snow the night of January 21, 2022. We did not! But we did receive enough sleet to cover most surfaces in a noticeable layer of ice. I got up early on January 22 with my 60mm macro lens and spent time exploring the backyard. Despite the green leaves and blooming flowers, it still felt like New England.
